About Alyson

Alyson Ryan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and co-founder of South Bay Wellness. She is passionate about assisting individuals on their journey to live a more fulfilling, peaceful and rewarding life. Alyson is a skilled public speaker, educator and counselor. Alyson’s professional experience encompasses private practice counseling, supervision of clinicians working towards their independent license, agency work, and teaching as an Adjunct Professor at both Hofstra and Adelphi Universities. In her private practice Alyson provides individual, couples and family counseling for a variety of mental health and life adjustment issues. She is an expert in the field of domestic and sexual violence and is inspired by survivors of trauma. She enjoys working with pregnant and postpartum moms and their partners, people affected by anxiety, adolescents and young adults.

Alyson’s most recent professional endeavor is as a Certified Lactation Counselor where she partners her skills as a social worker with her knowledge of lactation to provide quality breastfeeding classes and lactation support.

Alyson received her undergraduate degree in Health Service Administration from the University of Central Florida, her master’s degree in Social Work from Stony Brook University and her lactation counselor certification from the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice.
