BrainCore NeuroFeedback is Safe, Drugless and Non-Invasive.

It is proven to alleviate symptoms & enhance performance.

Neurofeedback, also known as EEG Biofeedback, is a state-of-the-art, non-invasive, drugless method for teaching the brain to function in a more balanced and healthful way. It is a simple and enjoyable learning modality that can help shift the way the brain produces and distributes its electrical energy.

For some people, normal brainwave regulation becomes disrupted. The dysregulated patterns, known as Neurological Dysregulation Syndrome or NDS, can contribute to a number of different symptoms including (but not limited to):

  • Behavioral issues such as addiction, oppositional defiance disorder, attention issues, impulsivity, obsessive compulsive behavior
  • Autism, ADD, ADHD, Asperger's
  • Mood issues such as depression, anxiety, panic disorder, mood swings, PTSD
  • Difficulty with learning, concentration and memory
  • Physical issues such as chronic pain and discomfort, headaches, migraines, difficulty losing weight, insomnia, tics, post-stroke syndrome, post traumatic brain injury, seizures

BrainCore works to regulate the disrupted patterns.

Understanding how the brain and Neurofeedback work:

The brain produces four types of electrical impulses, or frequency bands:

  • Alpha: Present when in a relaxed state and eyes are closed

  • Beta: Present when one is awake and engaged in thought

  • Theta: Present when entering a sleep state

  • Delta:  present during sleep

When we are doing typical daily activities like balancing our checkbooks or following directions in class, certain areas of our brain will need to be active and using the faster frequency called Beta. On the other hand, if after a long day we wish to relax and wind down, a different part of the brain will need to be activated using the slower brainwave frequency called Alpha.

The goal of Neurofeedback is to improve the brain’s ability to self-regulate, maintain flexibility, and smoothly shift between states of relaxation and arousal. Since the Brain also controls Attention Regulation, Emotional Regulation and Affect Regulation, this ultimately allows the entire Central Nervous System to resume normal functioning.Neurofeedback takes the dysregulated brainwave patterns and normalizes them so the brain can better self-regulate. This is done in a painless, non-pharmaceutical, non-invasive manner. Neurofeedback is not a diagnostic modality. It is a treatment modality.

With BrainCore Neurofeedback, we identify the dysregulated brainwave patterns, retrain the brain to then generate the proper waves, strengthen the neurons that are working properly and create new neural pathways.

Before beginning BrainCore NeuroFeedback therapy, clients will complete a quantitative electroencephalography or QEEG assessment. The assessment allows the practitioner to look at the brainwave patterns and identify any dysregulation. Once the patterns have been identified, an effective program can be established to begin to retrain the brainwaves.

During BrainCore Neurofeedback training sessions, individuals are connected to a computer using wires and sensors, thereby allowing the BrainCore technology to monitor the brainwave activity. The software automatically detects when the brainwaves are properly ordered and feeds that information back to the patient in real time. The feedback appears in the form of a game, movie, or sound which signals to the patient that the brainwaves are becoming more ordered. The patient's own brainwaves actually control the game, movie or sound activity, and the observation of this dynamic helps the brain learn how to improve its own regulation.;

Why does Neurofeedback work?
Neurofeedback takes advantage of the brain’s ability to change itself through a process known as Neuroplasticity. It utilizes the same learning process that occurs whenever we acquire a new skill. The brain learns by forming connections between nerve cells and utilizing important pathways that connect different locations in the brain. The more frequently you utilize these pathways the better the brain becomes at performing the associated task. In psychology, this type of leaning is called “Operant Conditioning”. It is a type of learning in which responses come to be controlled by their consequences.

Quite simply, Neurofeedback offers the perfect learning conditions, since it facilitates awareness of when the brain is producing healthier brainwave patterns, provides reinforcement for the positive change and multiple opportunities to provide practice during a training session.
